I have always wanted to play professional basketball but after coming to a quick realization of my height and the positioned I played…um that would not be possible. But I have always been a fan of the WNBA, especially players like Cynthia Cooper, Rebecca Lobo, and Sheryl Swoopes just to name a few. But one I have always loved was Lisa Leslie. As a franchise player for LA Sparks for years and retiring in 2009, Lisa Leslie continued to stay involved in women’s basketball as a fan and sports announcer. Recently she has rejoined the WNBA community as a co-owner of the Sparks. Lisa Leslie has become the first former player to invest in the WNBA in it’s 15-year history.
Lisa Shares “After spending over a decade playing with the Sparks and then the last two season as both a fan and team broadcaster, I couldn’t be happier to rejoin the organization formally as a business partner and team ambassador,” said the eight-time WNBA All-Star. ”I look forward to being as asset to the Sparks in the areas of marketing and community outreach.”
Lets give it up for my girl Lisa!
