This week on The G Code I got to interview Arian Simone who is a Celebrity Publicist, Entrepreneur and now author of Fabulous & Fearless Journey, her Homeless to Hollywood.

During The G Code she shared her testimony

“After college, I moved to Los Angeles in January 2004 with a job. After one month of employment, the company gets sold; I am laid off and I have no money. April 2004 — I moved from my apartment I could no longer afford to my car. I sold my clothes and belongings so I could eat and put gas in my car. Never would I have imagined that all this would happen to me! Here I am, full of education, undergraduate school, graduate school and no job. I applied for over 150 plus jobs and no one hired me. I tried temp agencies; I was on welfare and food stamps; car broke down; checked into a shelter, etc. I called my mother one day and told her I didn’t even see the purpose of living if this is what life was like. Through the trial my relationship with Christ grew very strong. I was without a place to live for 7 months. Around late July early August, someone who knew of me from my previous job that year referred me to their spouse for some PR & Marketing work. They sent other referrals and in 2 weeks I had about 5 to 7 projects going on. I immediately got the car out of the shop, and then moved into an office space with the help of ND Brown (My Spec). For the month of October, I just lived out of the office until end of November when I was able to afford an apartment. The office was a blessing; it was in a high rise in central LA; on the 19th floor was the most happening hip-hop station at the time in LA-100.3 The Beat. I would wake up every morning and network with whatever celebrities were at the radio station for the morning show. I made plenty of contacts. Then one day Coach Carter (the real Coach Carter the movie Coach Carter was based off) was on my floor and he introduced me to the fact that movie studios outsource people for what I do. He had me help out with some things for the movie prior to its release. From this exposure I then contacted people who were FAMU alumnus (Will Packer and Rob Hardy) that I knew were in the movie business and informed them about what I had been up to. From there my company was blessed to work on STOMP THE YARD and THIS CHRISTMAS. Sony Pictures became a client and we have done PR & Marketing Campaigns for TAKERS, QUANTUM OF SOLACE 007, HANCOCK, SEVEN POUNDS, FIRST SUNDAY, TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3, and the list goes on! We have serviced plenty of celebrities from Lil Wayne to Chris Brown and have put on some very star studded and grand events surrounding the Oscars and Grammy’s. My testimony brought birth to my non-profit, LIVE YOUR DREAMS. We aid the youth in identifying their gifts and talents and educate them on non-traditional careers and the value of living a fulfilled life. In addition, I dedicate time to train those in the skills in which I have been blessed to learn, because to whom much is given, much is required. I don’t share any of this as a point to brag, but as a testament to witness to you that God is GREAT, and with Him all Things are Possible.”
This summer Arian released her first book Fabulous & Fearless Journey, her Homeless to Hollywood story as an inspiration for all to continue to pursue their destiny despite obstacles. You can get the book on line at amazon, Barnes and Noble and iTunes. Check out the video below to get a glimpse of what the book is all!
