Taraji P Henson has always been a star. Form the moment her down to earth character warmed our hearts making her everyone ones sister in their head she continues to come into our homes weekly with her witty, street mart and beautiful character “Cookie” still making us fall in love with her more.
But before we knew her for who she is now Taraji had a dream and allowed nothing to stop her from making it happen even when she was faced with being a mother while in college. In her acceptance speech during the Vh1 Big in 2015 she shared the story of how she was able to to finish her college career due to receiving an award/scholarship from Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad name in honor of their father Andrew Arthur Allen Sr which allowed her to continue at Howard University.
