ADRI.V Meet’s Soledad O’Brien and Hill Harper
How often can you say in one day that you have encountered greatness?
In one day I was enlighten by the presence of two great people. This past Thursday I had the great opportunity to meet and hear Author, Actor and Philanthropist Hill Harper and CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien.
Hill Harper spoke with great energy at Zion Dominion Global Ministries for Canisius College presentation of “We Can’t Wait,” an education, economic and health Empowerment summit. At the summit I was invited as a quest speaker in one of the workshops but my focus was to be a student that day to listen and learn all that Hill Harper would be sharing. It was truly an honor to be able to hear Hill Harper charge up our students to be “Architects of your life”. Not only was I happy to see the energy from our students but I too left charged and ready to go after all I desire in life.
Right after the summit I got a chance to attend Hill Harper’s Book Signing and meet and greet reception where he autographed my copy of his book Letters to a Young Sister and snapped a quick picture with me before I left to go see Soledad O’Brien.
When I made it to Kleinhans Music Hall to see Soledad O’Brien, just like at Zion Dominion the atmosphere was set and everyone was itching to hear a great word. Right before the show started in a private reception I got a chance to meet and take a picture with Soledad O’Brien, it was like a dream come true! Soledad O’Brien delivered such an eloquent speech where again I was charged to make it happen despite the odds that I face.
As I look back, Thursday was truly a monumental night for me. I must say thank you to the Women in the Spotlight for inviting me to see Soledad O’Brien and also Canisius College Academic Talent Search Program for inviting me to be a guest speaker at the summit with Hill Harper I truly enjoyed myself.
