“If you chase two rabbits, both will escape.” -John Maxwell, 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader
When I read this the first thing that came to mind is Focus! We all say we are focused, but exactly what does being focused mean?
As I sat back and thought about what it means to be focused I realized like myself and many of my friends we juggle and try to do everything but trying to do everything is not being focused. By focusing on doing many things we will not allow ourselves to do one thing great. This is that old adage “Jack of all trades but a master of none.” To master something you must focus all you attention on perfecting that skill.
Going back to the quote, there is no way that you can try to chase two rabbits at the same time. The key is to focus on one rabbit, give it your all at getting it and sooner then later you will catch it. If we was to take that very same approach in life I’m sure sooner then later we will be the master of that trade, job or whatever we chose to focus on. The key is to Focus on ONE thing at a time.
By focusing on one thing at a time this gives us the ability to give 100% focus to it. I can say I have been guilty of chasing two rabbits at the same time and I’m sure you have too. Now is the time to prioritizes and ask you self “What do I really want, What do I really love to do, What do I desire?” and whatever the answers is to those questions focus on it and make it happen!
So Get Up Get Out and Go Get It!
